BULL SHARK DIVING

DIVE WITH ONE OF THE ONLY FRESHWATER SHARKS SPECIE

It is a species common in tropical and subtropical waters that inhabits marine waters, as well as estuaries and fresh waters, such as rivers and lakes. This ability is shared with only a few other species belonging to the Glyphis family, commonly called river sharks.

Bull shark diving is an increasingly popular activity in Playa del Carmen, with people coming from all over the world to admire them in their natural habitat. Starting in November/December, females come to shallow waters (+- 30 meters) due to the lower water temperature during winter, to give birth to their babies in the mangroves of the entire Riviera Maya.

It is necessary to have an advanced diving certification and previous experience diving at depths greater than 18 meters to participate in the activity.
