Environmental Education

Process through which we seek to convey teachings to the public regarding the protection of our natural environment, in order to foster habits and behaviors in the population that enable everyone to become aware of environmental issues, incorporating values, and providing tools to prevent and solve them.

Recycling

We created a recycling plan for Red Panda Hostel, where cans, glass, cigarette butts, and PET are separated.

Social Networks

We raise awareness about marine ecosystems, their importance, and threats through social media.

Ocean nights

We hold talks and documentary screenings (focused on science and the environment) at a bar. This activity is open to the entire adult community.

Cleaning

We actively participate in beach and cenote cleanups

Sea Turtles

We support sea turtle campaigns: nest monitoring and awareness-raising activities.

Lectures and Workshops

We work directly with educational institutions to provide practical tools and encourage critical thinking.

Training Sessions

Be Coral also takes care of building internal capacities within the Be Diving staff through regular training sessions on environmental topics.

Why take charge of environmental education?

Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System

Every year over 16 million people come to dive into the second-greatest barrier reef in the world to see the amazing coral species and structures the MesoAmerican Reef offers. Tourism is crucial for the local economy and a great way to promote conservation. However, this also creates issues with reefs being oversaturated with divers, irresponsible divers breaking corals, and increases chemical pollution exposure to these delicate ecosystems.
